The Wish Tower is OPEN

The Wish Tower Friends group has been busy over the last few months and the tower is now ready for visitors. The first tours of the tower will be held over the Easter weekend.

There’s a limit on the number of people in the tower at any one time for safety reasons, so it’s best to book in advance. Please click to get your tickets.

The Eastbourne Borough Market is back this Wednesday 26th March after a winter break.

73% support seafront cycle route

13th March 2014


Back in January our councils consulted on six cycle routes criss crossing Eastbourne and the results are a massive ‘YES!’ for extra cycle provision.

It looks like three of the routes are going forward, but unfortunately the seafront route is delayed by a pesky byelaw.

We applaud our councils for their big step forward on cycling and urge them to make one last push for the seafront.

First fundraiser for the Wish Tower

New leader of Spruce Up Squad

The Spruce Up Squad was one of Eastbourne Can’s first projects and remains very dear to our hearts.

We’ve been looking for a new leader with drive and determination to keep on brightening up Eastbourne’s empty shops.

We’re delighted to announce that David Oliver will be taking over from today and wish him all the best.

Wish Tower cleared

15th February 2014


This amazing photo shows a sight that hasn’t been seen for years. The interior of our Martello Tower is now clear and almost ready for visitors, thanks to the efforts of the Wish Tower Friends.

It’s taken 18 volunteers a total of 77 hours and 2 skips to move around 20 cubic yards of rubbish, partitions and other assorted bric a brac. The Friends braved today’s wind and rain to finish the job.

Brio comes to Eastbourne

Just Wood Toys is holding a Brio Play Festival for children. The event is free and is being held between 10am – 4pm on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd February in the Enterprise Centre, Eastbourne.
